M.Phil.Ph.D Programmes conducted in Bharathiar University
This application is meant only for regular M.Phil./Ph.D. (Full-Time/Part-Time) programmes for the academic year 2016-2017 offered in the University Departments/Affiliated Colleges and Recognized Research Institutions
Eligibility For M.Phil. Research Programme (Full Time/Part Time) : Candidates with Master’s degree of Bharathiar University in the concerned or related discipline or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. All candidates should have passed a two-year PG degree course after 3-year Bachelor’s degree course and Higher Secondary course of 2-year duration after 10-year SSLC (10+2+3+2) or one year Predegree after 11-year SSLC (11+1+3+2) or 10-year SSLC plus 3-year Diploma plus two year UG degree and two year PG (10+3+2+2) or four year UG degree and one year masters degree (10+2+4+1). Candidates who have passed the PG degree examination with less than 17 years of total duration of study are not eligible for admission to M.Phil. programme.
(a) Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for M.Phil. (Full-Time / Part Time) programme.
i. A candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree and working as Full- time Research Fellows/Technical Assistants/Research Assistants in time-bound Research schemes of one year duration or more in University. Departments/Research Departments of Affiliated Colleges/Recognized Research Institutions.
(b) Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for M.Phil. (Part-Time) programme:
i. Any person employed in any concern/organization/institution/ R & D Centres / Laboratories situated within Tamilnadu or Research Institutions recognized by Bharathiar University with a minimum of 55% of marks in the Master’s degree. Such candidates shall produce a Noobjection certificate and Service Certificate from the Employer or Head of the Institution (in case of Educational Institutions).
ii. All teachers working in colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University are eligible. Candidates working as guest lecturers on consolidated pay are also eligible to pursue M.Phil. (Part-time) programme provided they produce an NOC and service certificate from their respective colleges.
iii. Candidates working in colleges affiliated to Universities other than Bharathiar University have to produce a No objection Certificate and service certificate from the Head of the Institution/ University.
iv. T.C. need not be insisted for admission to part-time M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes.
v. Medium of Language is Tamil for the candidates doing their research in Yoga for Human Excellence and who have studied UG/PG degree courses in Tamil medium and for the rest of the candidates, the medium is English.
Eligibility For Ph. D Programme : The candidates should have passed a PG degree course (i.e., SSLC+HSC+UG+PG) or (SSLC+Pre-degree+1+UG+PG) or 10-year SSLC plus 3-year Diploma plus two year UG degree and two year PG (10+3+2+2) or four year UG degree and one year masters degree (10+2+4+1). So a candidate possessing a PG degree with 17 years of total duration of study alone is eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme. 2. Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for Ph.D. (Full-Time / Part Time) programme
Duration : M.Phil. Programme For One Session Only In A Year Commencing On The First Day Of November Of Every Year
Full - Time :Commencing on The First Day of November of Every Year The duration of M.Phil. full time programme shall extend over a period of one year (12 months) commencing from 1st November.
Part-Time : The duration of M.Phil. part-time programme shall extend over a period of two years (24 months commencing from 1st November Maximum period for completion (including extension period) of the M.Phil. programme is two years in the case of Full-time candidates and three years in the case of Part-time candidates. Candidate shall be permitted to appear for Part I examination only after completing the minimum period of six months in the case of full time registration and twelve months, in the case of part time registration
Fee : Cost of Application for M.Phil. Rs.500/- Cost of Application for Ph.D. Rs. 600/-. The above said application fees payable in the form of Demand Draft ( from any nationalized bank ) / Challan ( Bank of India ) shall be drawn in favour of the The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. (name of the candidate should be furnished at the back side of the DD)
First copy (without any enclosures ) has to be sent to The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and second copy (all attested xerox copies of testimonials from 10th std onwards along with original Demand Draft /Challan) has to be sent to the HOD of the concerned Department of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46. The filled in applications should reach to the University and concerned college on or before 31.08.2016 at 5.30 pm
